The Web and Visual Content Specialist analyzes, designs and implements web applications consistent with the technical direction and business strategies of the corporation to support effective connectivity with employees and stakeholders. In addition, the position produces a broad range of both print and web graphic art products, and provides technical and graphical/print, web and electronic media support for a full range of corporate communications planning and implementation. The successful candidate applies knowledge of web applications and visual design, ensuring graphical/print, and web-based design meets current and future business needs. Uses considerable judgement and critical thinking to plan, organize and evaluate the effectiveness of their work.

Selection Criteria:

  • A post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in User Experience Design, Digital Marketing and Graphic Design, Graphic Web Development, Computer Science; OR
  • English, Journalism, Public Relations; OR
  • an equivalent combination of related experience, education or training.
  • The candidate should have a minimum of three years' experience, including:
    o experience working in a communications or public relations environment performing web application and graphic/visual design work in a large organization;
    o recent experience implementing and maintaining websites and intranets;
    o recent experience practicing user experience design and/or planning and managing web properties, which could include experience in information architecture, content development and interaction design or an equivalent combination of related experience, education or training; and
    o demonstrated experience from requirements gathering to planning to execution and measurement.
