We’re looking for an experienced marketer who will help us revolutionize the consumer financing industry. The VP of Marketing will be responsible for leading initiatives that increase brand visibility, sales growth and B2B community engagement. The ideal candidate will have experience building a retail brand, creating effective campaigns to market B2B products to an SMB market and will intimately understand the nuances of creating retail traction with consumer customers. Additionally, this person will be data-driven, and be the center-piece of the development of thought leadership campaigns across our major verticals; developing systems, tools and processes that align with our business.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for championing the development and execution of short-term and long-term marketing objectives and communication strategies
  • Provide strategic leadership and ensure marketing operations are highly effective and well-coordinated across all functions including marketing communications, field/channel/partner marketing, online marketing and product marketing
  • Develop, manage and measure data-driven company marketing initiatives across Canada and the US
  • Evaluate and optimize retail marketing efforts aimed at both merchant acquisition and consumer engagement through multiple mediums (PPC, Display, and Email). Sourcing, evaluating, prioritizing, testing, implementing and optimizing innovative methods for reaching and converting new customers. Meeting customer acquisition (volume and acquisition cost) targets, to support business goals and objectives
  • Ensure appropriate metrics are in place to measure the success of marketing initiatives
  • Adjust marketing strategies accordingly to meet changing market and competition conditions
  • Establish and develop strong working relationships with relevant stakeholders, business partners and industry influencers
  • Accountable for company marketing budget and evaluation, and hitting customer acquisition targets
  • Develop and maintain a strong brand experience across multiple stakeholder groups and through multiple online and offline product experiences.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of extensive marketing experience
  • Experience working in e-commerce and lending services preferred
  • Excellent understanding of B2B cross-channel marketing, specifically which content is best suited to different marketing efforts
  • Experience designing products and experiences for a retail environment
  • Experience with local retail marketing engagement (see UBER and Lululemon)
  • Proven ability to lead a marketing organization and ensure accountability for results that maximize contribution to business objectives
  • Solid understanding of traditional marketing: print, sales support, direct mail
  • Advanced knowledge of internet marketing (SEO, SEM, display/banner advertising) and digital marketing
  • Knowledge, skill and experience in the use of a wide range of communications tactics from media relations to social media
  • Proven ability to manage budget to revenue and spend targets; ability to manage a variety of efforts with a scrappy approach to doing more with less; strong solutions-orientation
  • Knowledge and understanding of the financial services and payments industries
  • Demonstrated experience in research and evaluation methodologies to ensure marketing and communications return on investment
  • University degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or the equivalent
