As BuildDirect Video Media Specialist, you will express your passion for brand building and narrative creation to build, foster, and curate the company’s presence and role in traditional media and online media in an effort to engage media influencers, journalists, industry peers, and potential partners.

Working with the Marketing team, you will implement proven experience and skill sets to grow the company presence and voice across all relevant media outlets and online media spaces, and lend effort to increase intelligence on data derived from those communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the internal staff & external contractors to create original video content
  • Maintain company YouTube channel and grow YouTube viewer community
  • Creating viral videos that resonate with our core customers
  • Creating short videos that can be used as Ads on online & offline channels like YouTube & TV
  • Video Production- set-up, lighting, shooting and editing company videos. Moderate travel may be required for video projects.
  • Create and write scripts of new video DIY ideas
  • Publish new videos on YouTube & other video channels
  • Source stories, conduct interviews, write and edit for internal and external websites.
  • Stay abreast of best practices and emerging technologies in video production & distribution

First Year Outcomes:

  • Increase YouTube traffic growth by 75%
  • Increase growth in brand recognition by 50%
  • Drive 850 leads from free samples

Requirements:

  • Educational background in marketing/communications/mass media/journalism
  • 1+ years of recent/relevant experience producing video content for the Web
  • Strong video production skills
  • Outgoing and energetic personality with a positive outlook
  • Ability to work independently & collaboratively with teams to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of key Mashable topics including technology, social media, entertainment, social good, digital lifestyle and viral content

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience in world of Filmmaking, professional media, and networking
  • Clear understanding of evolving digital media industry online and offline
  • Extensive knowledge of online video tools and sites
  • Advanced understanding of social media best practices
