The ideal candidate must be a post secondary graduate from an information and technology program (eg. business, e-commerce, computer science).
The candidate must be able to evaluate on-line marketing options, not just from a technical perspective but from a business standpoint.
They must be able to critically evaluate alternatives, make sound recommendations, and implement them as directed.
Specific objectives include improving our on-line presence and visibility eg. search optimization and social networking. We also want a review of shopping cart technologies, as well as a review of the appropriateness of on-line teaching software (eg. Adobe Connectpro). If the candidate is creative and talented we would like them to propose new ways to market our products and services online (eg. podcasts), and/or suggest ways we can use our existing expertise to enter new markets.
They must be effective at online research, and make recommendations keeping our objectives, resources and budgets in mind.
If new e-commerce/marketing ideas or opportunities arise from the research done we will want students to help implement these as approved.
The job is full time for a minimum of 12 weeks, and pay rate is $16-20 per hour.
