TORQUE Strategies is seeking a brand and communications professional to add to our dynamic content and creative team. The Specialist, Brand & Communications role supports all TORQUE Strategies clients with services ranging from content development strategy, to creative services, to social media community management.   The candidate for this position requires excellent written and oral communications skills with demonstrated knowledge and experience in sponsorship marketing practices. The candidate will be a known self-starter, able to bring a significant skill set and positive attitude to our vibrant and fast paced team culture. The candidate will be an integral part of continuing to develop and amplify the brand voice of TORQUE Strategies and our incredible portfolio of valued clients within the corporate, amateur sport, cause, music and festivals sectors. - Client & Project Management

o Support and manage client projects demonstrating exemplary use of project and time management best practice, communication and reporting, engagement of internal resources and support collaboration as a bridge between departments

o Provide leadership and/or support on client accounts as necessary

o Develop superb working relationships and provide service to external clients to ensure a high level of client satisfaction

- Content Strategy

o In support of internal and external clients, lead the development of content strategies to support community growth and engagement to drive results against business objectives

- Social Media Management

o Managing between 5-10 social media platforms for both internal and external clients, driving industry engagement and community development targets

- Brand Management

o Support the management of internal and external client brands in accordance with brand standards guidelines and industry best practice

- Communications Design

o Development of presentation tools and templates, sales collateral and graphic assets

- Media Relations

o Develop yearly public relations plans, write press releases, curate and maintain media lists and assist with cultivating media relationships with industry media to further TORQUE Strategies’ goals and enhance brand awareness in market


  • 3-5 years experience in marketing, sponsorship and/or client management
  • A degree or diploma from a recognized institution in a related field
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of marketing agency industry and  business practices
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on timelines and delivery of projects
  • Exceptional relationship management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Demonstrated expertise in the application of visual presentation design best practices
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and analytics/measurement tools including, but not limited to Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Sprout Social, TweetDeck and Google Analytics
  • Proficiency with web content management and WordPress an asset
  • Proficiency with graphic design software (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite) an asset
  • Experience working or volunteering in the sports/entertainment field or marketing communications industry
  • Previous experience working in an agency environment
  • Fluency in English required
  • Fluency in French an asset
