Reporting to the Manager, Cultural Development, the Senior Project Manager has lead role in the implementation of the Cultural Plan working with the Community Cultural Roundtable and leading the Staff Advisory Team. Leads, coordinates and manages the development of tourism and culture based projects and policies. Conducts business process and program reviews. Leads multi-disciplinary teams using research, analysis and consultation to inform/support the programs/services provided by the Tourism and Culture Division.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Baccalaureate degree in cultural studies, business, economic development or a related discipline with considerable experience in business or government relevant to the job.
Extensive project management experience leading multi-discplinary teams, preferably related to culture, cultural planning and tourism based initiatives.
Demonstrated skill in policy development, business planning and data analysis. Experience in program improvement specific to tourism, culture, arts, economic development, and heritage would be an asset.
Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of a variety of effective community consultation and engagement strategies.
Demonstrated ability to deal effectively and collaboratively with elected officials, business and community stakeholders, management, peers and the general public.
Must possess thorough knowledge of the current suite of Microsoft productivity tools, including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Word. Microsoft Project and web-based applications an asset.
Must be available to work evenings and weekends as required.
