Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing, the Marketing Specialist will participate in the strategy and execution of various marketing initiatives for Elmwood Spa and Bangkok Garden, with a focus on email marketing, web, promotions and media planning/buying. The Marketing Specialist will work closely with Food & Beverage, Spa Services and IT departments across a broad range of marketing activities. Understands the importance of and promotes the Company’s Mission, Vision and Values.
Manage email campaigns for Elmwood Spa, while adhering to CASL. This includes database management, scheduling, reporting, optimizing performance and developing strategies to grow email subscriber base.
Manage updates to company websites and ecommerce and proactively recommend improvements
Project Management of approved marketing and promotional initiatives, including development of creative briefs and managing freelancers
Participate in the development and execution of annual promotional calendars, including ongoing reporting, analysis, and recommendations for future improvement
Draft internal communications relating to promotions and new initiatives
Media planning and buying of seasonal and ongoing campaigns across print, digital, outdoor, and radio.
Collaborate with Social Media & Marketing Coordinator to improve performance across social media platforms and ensure social integration with marketing campaigns and websites.
Work with third party vendor to manage SEM
Seek out and execute beneficial co‐marketing opportunities
Assist with copy writing for advertisements, promotions and marketing campaigns
Budget tracking and issuing purchase orders Event planning/coordination
Collaborate with Social Media Coordinator to ensure alignment with marketing strategy and promotions
Coordinate updates to company websites using WordPress, ensuring that all content is current and accurate, and that various web elements are functioning properly, including e‐commerce
Assist with other duties as assigned
3-5 years marketing experience, with focus on digital
Demonstrable experience managing SEM and display advertising campaigns
Knowledge of SEM and Google Analytics
Experience with email marketing; knowledge of Mailchimp an asset
University degree or college diploma with a preference towards business or marketing
Strong technical skills and experience managing email platforms are mandatory
Highly analytical and able to derive meaning from data through A/B testing and email optimization.
Extremely detail-oriented and results-driven with a proven track record of learning independently
Strong communication and writing skills
Must be able to work flexible hours and accommodate last‐minute requests
Creative and strategic thinker
Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills
Strong knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word; use of design software an asset.
