Overview:

The Marketing Manager will work with the VP of Sales & Marketing, along with the US office, to ensure the Canadian marketing strategy aligns with the brand’s global strategic pillars and initiatives. The position will be responsible for aligning all marketing resources with overall strategy and ensuring that marketing plans are executed effectively. He/she will also be responsible for creating integrated marketing plans for key brand and product launch initiatives to elevate the Merrell Brand with key retail partners.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute marketing programs to maximize brand awareness and strategic business objectives
  2. Direct the execution of the overall marketing strategy in Canada and ensure alignment with the brand’s strategic pillars
  3. Work with Key Account Managers to create and lead high-level integrated marketing plans with key retail partners for key brand and product launch initiatives ensuring market success
  4. Collaborate with the US Head Office to ensure Canada secures seasonal strategy presentation materials, retail marketing and collateral programs
  5. Develop and activate plans to leverage strategic partnerships with key organizations and events to bolster brand positioning
  6. Evaluate market reactions to advertising, communications and promotional activity to determine effectiveness
  7. With input from the US office, develop and manage the annual marketing plan, calendar, and budget for Canada
  8. Manage the Canadian technical representative field team
  9. Perform all other duties relating to sales support and promotions as requested

Qualifications:

  • Degree in communications, Bachelor’s degree in marketing or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years work experience in marketing, preferably in footwear, sports or fashion category
  • A thorough understanding of social and digital media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Google+, YouTube, Vimeo, and Instagram
  • Strong project management experience and collaborative skills required as position requires bringing multiple teams to a unified point of view
  • Proven ability to transition from high level conceptual work to tactical detail without losing the concept
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills; attention to detail and follow-through essential
  • Proven track record of being creative, action-orientated leader
  • Strong communication skills with ability to effectively communicate the brand strategy internally and externally to key industry & retail partners as well as target consumers
