Job Summary
The Marketing Events Manager will have a variety of responsibilities from event planning and execution to the project management of special projects such as Ceridian’s annual sales kickoff and future product launches. Activities will often entail the coordination of resources across internal departments as well as external resources including partners and customers. The Marketing Events Manager will therefore work closely with several stakeholders both inside and outside the organization.
Responsibilities:
Planning and execution of strategic events and conferences including Ceridian’s annual sakes kickoff
Supervise trade show presence including exhibit logistics, staff training, purchasing and supervising outside services, and managing show budgets
Management and supervision of special events including customer and prospect roadshows
Management, coordination and execution of key projects including product launches
Participate in determining show selection, show strategy including related promotions
Provide event expertise and implement best practices to ensure a high quality event experience and high ROI on all events
Understand business and provide strategic direction and messaging is applied to events programs
Build awareness resulting in new customers; customer retention through special events; increased employee effectiveness through our company events
Qualifications:
5 + years related trade show planning and/or event/meeting planning experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong project management skills are a requirement
Strong level of personal organization with excellent oral/written communication skills
Must be detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple assignments promptly and effectively
Demonstrated ability to work calmly in a fast-paced team environment while effectively managing multiple tasks
Ability to react quickly and decisively to resolve customer issues
Must have excellent customer service and communication skills to represent the company well, off site and unsupervised, to prospects, vendors, and customers
Must be able to develop and manage a show/event budget effectively
Must be able to lift heavy weights up 50 pounds, conduct light physical labor, climb stairs/ladders, work late nights and long hours, and stand on show floors for 10-12 hours at a time for events and trade shows
Events expertise in managing and executing large conferences and tradeshows
Experience working with product management, sales, and customers
Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation systems preferred (Oracle and Eloqua are an asset)
Demonstrated business acumen with a solid reputation as a key contributor to operational excellence
Experience in an enterprise-wide software development environment preferred
Excellent communication and PC skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Bachelor’s degree is preferred
Must have valid driver’s license
Must have a valid passport and the ability to travel internationally
Requires approximately 30-65% travel
