As a Marketing Designer on the Growth and Marketing Teams, you’ll have the autonomy to lead your own projects, experiment with testing your work in order to produce data-driven solutions, contribute to our growing design culture & process and expand your design knowledge by working alongside a group of highly skilled people at Universe. You’ll learn how to build quality experiences under real world conditions and will participate in all aspects of the design process. We’re looking for designers that have a broad knowledge of marketing design but can go deep in a few specialty areas.

What You’ll Do

• Work closely with our remote marketing team (they’re located in San Francisco), as well as engineers and other stakeholders in Toronto to help drive more traffic to our platforms and grow our number of customers
• Develop assets such as illustrations, brand assets, user flows and mockups to support various projects such as ad and email campaigns, landing pages as well as social media marketing
• You’ll also work closely with the product design team to continue building our brand guidelines and ensure there is close alignment with product
• Apply the Universe brand guidelines to any campaign or marketing assets you create
• Effectively communicate and sell design, give and receive feedback from various stakeholders in order to move designs decisions forward
• Validate your design work and know how to take actions based on insights you’ve found

What We’re Looking For

• Craftsmanship and care for your craft and shipping quality design solutions
• Minimum of 1-2 years of design experience
• A portfolio that showcases the breadth and depth of your work
• Strong visual design, design thinking and illustration skills
• Someone who’s great at time management and setting priorities
• Love sharing your work because it’s how you improve
• A love for experimentation and using analytics to measure and inform your work
• Proficiency with common suite of industry marketing design tools including Sketch, Mailchimp & Unbounce etc.
• A self-starter that is eager to lead your own projects and take initiative
• Detail oriented and has a mindset that no task is too small

Nice to Have

• Experience working at a startup
• Excellent copywriting skills
• Experience with video editing
