Purpose of role:

To support the marketing team in their key functions, with a focus on supporting the retail event planning process. To manage the complexities of the event planning process and encourage cross-functional collaboration, leading to flawless event execution for our internal (store teams) and external customers.

Role Definitions

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Manage event process timings and inputs from cross-functional teams: marketing, commercial, retail and e-commerce
  • Adapt international store event pack, working closely with Assistant Marketing Manager to ensure it is clear, precise and relevant for Canadian stores
  • Input into the local event strategy and suggest opportunities to drive traffic and recruit/engage new customers
  • Undertake regular store visits to understand best practice from our own stores and key competitors, as well as how we can better support our teams
  • Assist with visual merchandising set up in office (walkthroughs), in store (event flips), in new stores (openings), and at outreach events (PR and brand events)
  • Support our brand values and corportate responsibility programs, including our campaign to end animal testing in Canada
  • Support VP Marketing with additional brand initiatives and perform other related duties as assigned or requested

  • Respect the integrity and visual presentation of the brand as developed by international marketing and as per the current brand guidelines
  • Actively engage through store visits and spend 2 days per month working in store with store staff and The Body Shop customers
  • Commercially control spend within your specific remit, working creatively and in a SMART way to reduce both overall costs whilst increasing efficiency
  • Responsible for maintaining the ethical standards of The Body Shop including minimising the environmental, health and safety risks in the workplace and responsible for reporting potential risks, real accidents and near misses to relevant managers
  • Champions, supports and participates in The Body Shop’s values and campaigns
  • To perform other related duties as assigned or requested by VP Marketing

Experience:

  • Experienced in DTP (desk top publishing) including ability to use Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
  • Competent user of Excel spreadsheets and all Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects of various scope
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent ‘eye’ for design and a passion for visual and beauty trends
  • Experience with visual merchandising a bonus
  • Passion for natural beauty and skincare
  • Retail store experience also an advantage

Qualifications:

  • Educated in a relevant discipline (i.e. Business Studies, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, etc.)

Competencies required:

  • Highly detail oriented
  • Ability to manages complex projects with many different moving pieces
  • Obsessed with offering the best possible experience to our various internal and external customers
