The Writer is responsible for producing accurate, compelling copy that clearly conveys the required messages to our target audience. The successful candidate must write in an appropriate style that is in keeping with Pythian’s brand. This will include writing marketing material, instructional copy, factual information, or narrative text. The Writer may also need to specify where additional assets, such as images or diagrams, sound or video, should accompany the text, and provide appropriate captions for them. In addition, it is the Writer's responsibility to indicate any hyperlinks within the text, and to specify clearly where they should lead. The Writer may also be responsible for providing metadata, such as keywords and a short description, to accompany each web page. This position may involve writing new copy from scratch, or adapting existing material to make it suitable for the web.
•Accountability for all the development of editorial content for all online and off line marketing efforts.
•Create product and promotional copy for all website and online marketing efforts including repurposed content and original writing.
•Responsible for the creation of lead generation/nurturing copy such as, whitepapers, case studies, email marketing campaigns, webinars, sales presentations, brochures, etc.
•Ensure editorial content is written and presented in a format that meets both print formats, web usability standards, search engine optimizations and is consistent with company information design guidelines and brand image.
•Collaborate with marketing team members to enhance website content and functionality and develop innovative ways to effectively meet customer needs.
•Translate complex business strategies into well-articulated value propositions and creative, effective marketing communications.
•Tailor messages to the audience in an effective and easy-to-read style.
•Collaborate with marketing account managers, graphic designers and business partners to complete projects within tight deadlines.
•Bachelor's degree required, preferably with a concentration in English, Journalism, or Communications or an acceptable combination of education and work experience
•A minimum of 7 years of related writing experience both for online and offline marketing
•Proven ability to multitask and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
•Proven experience to create and edit content for the web, whitepapers, and case studies
•Previous experience working in the technology sector
