Marketing Assistant- Maternity Leave Contract Contract

Javelin is excited to meet a Marketing Assistant for a 15 months maternity leave contract beginning early October. You will be responsible for event planning, social media and marketing administration.


Position open to the Marketing or Business Administration professionals. Person filling this position must be a fast learner with good energy.  Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.   The individual must be an innate problem solver and a resourceful individual.


Event Planning

  • Creation of event registration pages for various events
  • Sourcing event venues in our preferred cities, creating a spreadsheet in SharePoint with all the details for each venue
  • Help plan SOLIDWORKS 2018 launch events (attending meetings, helping to supplies, pries, etc.)
  • Assist with social media before, during and after events
  • Organizing registrant list from Eventbrite for pre-event confirmation calls and follow up calls
  • Confirming tradeshows and booth set up
  • Organizing tradeshow logistics
  • Arranging packages to ship for events and tradeshows
  • Event supplies to each office including; SWAG, pop up banners, table cloths
  • Receiving packages of orders in Oakville and organizing for storage

Social Media

  • Social media calendar
    • Create quarterly social media calendar for all Javelin social channels
  • Brainstorm new ideas for social channels
  • Blogging and social media for specific campaigns (such as SOLIDWORKS launch, roadshows)
  • Assisting Application Experts and sales team with webinars (help with testing sound, set up, and recording)
  • Editing webinar recordings and posting them on our YouTube channel, sending recording to registrants and attendees

Marketing Administration

  • Database cleaning
  • Creating email templates for drip programs and creating drip logic
  • Sending post-webinar and post-tradeshow emails to registrants and attendees
  • Office promotional supplies


  • Post secondary degree or diploma in Marketing or Business Administration
  • 2-3 years experience in a business environment
  • Strong communication, collaboration, teamwork and people skills
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Social media savvy- Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram
  • Blogging- WordPress, Yoast
  • Video editing skills- Camtasia or Movie Maker an asset
  • Experienced with a CRM and/or marketing automation software
  • Comfortable with technology- Pardot, Webinar experience would be an asset
  • Pardot- email creation and deployment experience
  • Proven ability of event planning
  • Ability to travel to the USA as required
  • Must have a valid Ontario G-Class Drivers' License
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
