Job Description

The Marketing Analyst role is to identify, collect, analyze and manage information required to support and shape the Marketing Strategy for VAS.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, VAS the Marketing Analyst will provide analytical and reporting support to assist in the implementation of marketing strategies. The Marketing Analyst will be responsible for all marketing analytics including but not limited to customer analytics, marketing program effectiveness and market insight in support of the VAS business. This will involve understanding the business priorities defined by the Marketing Manager and Director and translating those priorities into detailed analytics and insights.

This highly proficient analyst will have a strong marketing intuition coupled with analytical and basic data modeling experience.

Customer Analytics

  • Responsible for sourcing, summarizing, and analyzing pertinent data from multiple data sources
  • Analyze customer behavior and identify trends using transaction, usage data and customer feedback
  • Provide insight into our customer base through deep dive analyses, value segmentation and lifecycle analysis
  • Establish opportunities for customer targeting, cross-sell and up-sell
  • Support annual Customer Experience Index analysis & reporting
  • Leverage analytical best practices to support Sales, Marketing and Product development by providing regular customer, campaign and market intelligence into regular reports and presentations
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for analysis, data and information on a regular basis

Campaign Analytics

  • Execute regular pre and post campaign analysis through performance metrics and ROI analysis that capture keys to success and potential areas for improvement
  • Establish a post-launch diagnostic process to ensure a consistent approach is being used in measuring the success of campaigns
  • Link analysis and results to business issue that will provide actionable strategic recommendations (where appropriate)

Marketing Campaign Support

  • Support Marketing Managers to accomplish strategic marketing initiatives
  • Support the Marketing Managers in new campaign planning, development & execution
  • Support the creation of new content development
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for marketing campaign development or execution support

Customer & Market Insight

  • Support annual Customer Experience Index analysis & reporting
  • Support competitive intelligence initiative to help prioritize product/marketing initiatives and identify opportunities for innovation and new service offerings
  • Monitor industry trends and activities of key stakeholder, partners and competitors

Core Accountabilities/Outcomes

  • Gather the required customer, program and market intelligence to validate and guide business strategy and to refine marketing and sales plans
  • Manage and provide regular reports on all customer analytics for VAS
  • Support Marketing Managers to accomplish strategic marketing initiatives

Required Skills

  • University or college degree in Marketing, Commerce, Economics or relevant field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a progressively analytical role, interfacing with marketing or sales
  • Excellent business and marketing analysis skills
  • Highly proficient with MS Office applications.
  • Proven Advanced proficiency in Excel & MS Access, with in depth knowledge of advanced formulas, PowerPivot, charting and reporting
  • Ability to coordinate, organize, integrate, manage and interpret data sets from various sources
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Critical thinking and business analysis skills to interpret the data and to provide insights on the data back to the business to help with future growth strategies
  • Ability to succinctly define problems and recommend solutions
  • Able to work well independently but also act as a key point of contact to the business
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to present recommendations to marketing leadership
  • Proven ability to deliver analytical insights to the business that drives change
  • High level of attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with only general guidance
  • Team player with high energy and demonstrated initiative
