Position Overview

The MarCom, Events & Strategy Manager supports the execution of all corporate and brand initiatives. The leader’s main responsibilities will be the delivery of the company's event, marketing and sponsorship programs.  In addition, the leader will be involved with facilitating full, marketing-mix programs. The Manager’s portfolio will be a critical factor for the smooth operation of the department and the attainment of its goals.

Responsibilities and Deliverables

Provide support for corporate events and tradeshows as required, including:

  • Management of three direct reports: two event marketing coordinators and one event sponsorship coordinator (one year contract role)
  • Developing, plan and ensure flawless execution of marketing-mix campaign plans to achieve Marketing KPIs, based on customer-data insights
  • Lead and execute marketing plans inclusive of digital marketing, social and PR
  • Actively participate in the strategy discussions and metric setting
  • Craft customer campaign models leveraging persona development and brand positioning
  • Managing campaign progress through project management systems and tools
  • Managing internal stakeholders, lead buy-in discussions and present campaign status reports
  • Modernize in-market presence and develop support models for in-field sales teams to drive meaningful conversations (ie: templates, workflow plans, follow-up approach) to encourage pipeline conversion
  • Facilitate cross-functional team collaboration and encourage continued dialogue
  • Engage in the selection, contracting and fulfillment of outside suppliers and manage vendor orders
  • Manage marquee event strategies and to-market activities and execute to plan (ie: annual conference, industry hero moments, thought leadership activities)
  • Review contracts, agreements and monitor fulfilment
  • Oversee coordinator project management, documentation development and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes
  • Active participate in Marketing team with creating promotion materials and website updates
  • Prepare and monitor fulfilment of sponsorship agreements
  • Create and oversee: Post-campaign reports and debriefs, budget management, corporate event email marketing campaigns and promotions and blog posts
  • Lead demand generation plan for customer-facing engagement

Supplementary Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Advise corporate award program and build execution plan
  • Oversee coordinator management of corporate and product content via Intelex social media channels
  • Manage social posts and ensure publishing is in line with department content calendar
  • Format press releases and post via corporate media accounts (PR Web, MarketWired, etc.)

Organizational Alignment

  • Reports to the Director, MarCom, Events & Strategy
  • Facilitates and maintains relationships with cross functional teams within the organization

Qualifications

Skills & Work Traits

  • Demonstrable active listening skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective campaign management, reporting and time management abilities
  • Works well under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • Comfortable working in an agile marketing environment

Technical Competencies

  • Proficiency in marketing automation software considered an asset (Marketo/Pardot/ Salesforce)
  • Proficiency with GoToMeeting and WordPress an asset
  • Proficient in Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn

Experience

  • 8-10 years of previous marketing or relevant experience in the industry
  • Prior experience in communications, event production and management an asset

Education

  • Completion of post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience
