The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the evaluation, development, and execution of the association’s overall marketing initiatives and strategy. This person will be required to develop and manage all marketing initiatives, maximize our digital assets through audience development, by leveraging Mortgage Professionals Canada’s various communication offerings, and implementing appropriate social media and content strategies.

The Manager, Marketing will work in tandem with the Manager, Communications to effectively deliver timely messaging promoting the association’s activities to our members, including writing and designing compelling and engaging content.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to meet association goals and brand objectives

  • Oversee planning, research, tactic development, and measurement programs for all marketing initiatives

  • Plan, write, and deliver engaging online communications, including relevant and timely news articles

  • Execute and deliver effective marketing materials to association members, partners and the public

  • Maintain relevance and effectiveness of communication assets, including website, social media, and print

  • Provide strategic marketing counsel to internal stakeholders and work collaboratively with departments in achieving association goals

  • Coordinate with the Communication Manager to ensure consistency of messaging throughout all media, publications, advertising to all stakeholders (consumers, government, media and our members)

  • Identify trends affecting the association, members, or the industry and opportunities for improvement

  • Establish effective metrics for measuring the impact of marketing and communication programs, and analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns

  • Participate on cross functional teams to create recommendations and execute related plans, including events, membership, designation, and education

  • Monitor social media conversations about the company and report on results

  • Monitor SEO and SEM results and effect improvements

  • Stay current with leading and emerging social media platforms and best practices

Requirements

  • 3+ years direct management experience

  • Demonstrable ability to create and deliver successful marketing programs

  • Superior writing and presentation skills

  • Post-secondary degree, preferably in marketing, business administration or a related discipline (an equivalent combination of formal education, training and experience may also be considered)

  • Project management and organizational skills, including comprehensive planning, scheduling, communication, supplier management and negotiations

  • Experience with digital content strategies, SEO and SEM, new trends and technology developments

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, community platforms, their respective user bases, and how they can be deployed in different scenarios, including B2B settings

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking; ability to see the big picture and small details equally

  • Mortgage broker industry experience is preferred
