Purpose Of The Job

Responsible for planning and implementation of all marketing and communication initiatives on Newegg.ca site, and within the Canadian marketplace.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Plan, manage and execute Canadian marketing events and local initiatives.
  • Partner with US marketing Channel Managers (email, internet marketing, brand marketing, events, PR and social media), to support the corporation’s strategic brand and category goals as well as all promotional aspect of the marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Product Management (PM) department to get products and develop promotional activities to drive the maximum revenue through all marketing vehicles.
  • Manage the creative vision, design process and marketing budgets for all Newegg branding/marketing initiatives while developing a consistent branding strategy
  • Conceptualize strategic ideas and recommend artistic changes for design improvements and user readability.
  • Oversee design projects from concept through production, and is responsible for successful project follow-up: identifying significant accomplishments, opportunities for improvement and customer/team communications.
  • Under the direction and guidance of Email Marketing Management - plan, stimulate, and execute the Canada B2C commercial email campaign. Ensure they match the Company’s needs and the seasonal focus of the Canadian market.
  • Create and manage all budgets for creative projects and ensure all customers are receiving high-quality professional service.
  • Responsible for creating, directing and/or supporting all external marketing through email, paid search, affiliates, shopping comparison networks, display and banner advertising, print advertising (newspaper ads and circulars, magazines, flyers), broadcast advertising (television and radio) social media (primarily Facebook and Twitter), public relations and events.
  • Support and/or solicit and develop new relationships with key external strategic and creative resources that meet the Company’s high standards of innovation and production quality.
  • Partner with local business partners, affiliates and advertisers to promote all activities, and other internal marketing tools.
  • Manage relationship with all media partners, press, as well as manufacturer’s marketing counterparts to maximize branding opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Special Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related discipline or 6 years directly related experience in e-commerce marketing in lieu of bachelor’s.
  • 6+ years of strategic brand development with experience in advertising, marketing, promotion, copywriting, design and production, 2 of the 6 years experience to include direct supervisory experience.
  • Must be familiar with traditional and new media businesses and their economics.
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian retail landscape and the marketing tools needed to success in this market.
  • Proven experience building and refreshing marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to consistently identify accomplished design practices and make sound business decisions for the successful ongoing development of company initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have strong strategic planning and organizational skills in order to meet the goals of the company.
  • Ability to work with others in a demanding, fast-paced environment with short timelines.
  • Must be self-directed and effective working independently, yet equally comfortable contributing in a team environment.

Essential Mental and Physical Functions

Mental Functions:
Decisions may affect a work unit or area within a department. May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department. This position establishes procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives in a broad area of work. Only the final results of work done are typically reviewed.

Physical Functions:
Sitting required 90% of the time. Walking and standing required 5% of the time respectively. No heavy lifting required. Constant working on a computer.

Equipment Used

Standard office and computer equipment including MS Office software.

Work Environment

Office cubicle environment with minimal exposure to the environment or health hazards.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Yes - 2+ direct reports

Language Skills

Must be able to speak, read, write and comprehend English.

Travel Requirements

Limited local domestic travel.
