Interactive Designer (Short Term Contract)

FCV Interactive is a full-service agency. As a result of exciting new business wins, we are seeking an Interactive Designer to join our FCV Labs team on contract. As an Interactive Designer you will work with a talented team creating digital experiences that make life better.

You’ll be reporting to our VP of Product and working closely with the Product Manager to bring to life conceptual prototypes. You’ll be full of great ideas, can quickly bring visual clarity and a great communicator. You’ll be responsible for the quality of design output both individually, and with the team.

This 4-6+ week contract to start as soon as possible out of our Vancouver office.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver world-class user-focused design solutions – both individually, and with the team
  • Support your team in the day-to-day execution of user-focused design work
  • Present your work professionally and effectively, and be ready to both give and receive constructive feedback
  • Stay on top of emerging digital platforms and trends
  • Always behave professionally under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • Collaborate across departments and disciplines as required

Skills and Experience

  • 2+ years experience in a recognized interactive design program
  • A portfolio of design work that demonstrates your user-focused design capabilities across a range of brands and channels
  • Extensive experience working in Sketch
  • Knowledge of interface design and how it relates to user interaction, grid systems, branding, typography, color theory, iconography – and the ability to communicate these principles to clients and non-design staff
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to focus under pressure and deal with ambiguity
  • A sense of humour, positive attitude and bags of enthusiasm
