Term: Effective immediately for 4 months
SUMMARY:
The Graphic Designer performs graphic design and production for a variety of departments at Canucks Sports & Entertainment including Brand & Creative, Sales & Service Activation (Marketing), Web, Broadcast, Game Presentation, Corporate Sponsorship, and other departments as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
(other may be assigned from time to time):
- Graphic design of various print materials including, but not limited to: brochures, business reports and proposals, flyers, advertisements, schedules, media guides, player cards, posters, and calendars, as well as identity work such as logos and small illustration tasks
- Client communication from first draft to final sign-off and press approvals
- Supplier coordination of own projects, including but not limited to securing quotes, liaising with external supplier contacts regarding pricing, ordering, delivery and turnaround
- Translation and posting of photos, PDF documents, and logos for the Canucks website as requested by client departments
- File management with regard to team, program, event or corporate logos and files, including archiving, manipulating and distributing such files
- Scanning of photos and/or artwork as requested by client departments
REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES:
- Strong graphic design and production capabilities, including at least three years experience with a variety of projects using the latest software packages, including Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash), Microsoft Office and Apple Keynote
- Excellent grammar, spelling, proofreading, and writing abilities
- Flexibility in terms of handling a variety of assignments under tight deadlines while maintaining a strong focus on branding, consistency and quality
- Independent, creative problem-solver
- Highly organized, motivated and responsible with good time and project management abilities
- A team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation
ADDITIONAL SKILLS (Not required but considered an asset):
- Completion of a recognized graphic design diploma or degree
- User Interface and User Experience Design (Web, Interactive and Mobile)
- Video effects and Productions (Motion Graphics)
- Photography
- Illustration
