You:

• Bring a passion for driving brand consistency across all media.

• Understand the psychological parameters of design including color, font, space, shape and structure and how it communicates the right message to the desired audience.

• Are versed in the best practices of graphic design including effective retail merchandising, and proactively bring new ideas to push the brand forward while ensuring brand integrity throughout internal- and external-facing communications.

• Lead the creative development, layout, typography, and production design for print and non-print communications including: catalogues and sales collateral, retail merchandising and signage, sales presentations and website layout and design.

• Create illustrations, charts and sketches as needed, or direct marketing agencies and freelancers in the development of specialized illustrations or renderings.

• Coordinate and provide creative direction for product photography.

• Work closely with others including sales and product management teams to develop design concepts and build collateral that will advance the brand and help deliver on business objectives.

• Work independently as well as collaboratively while taking direction from others.

• Balance multiple projects with time sensitive deadlines.

• Pay attention to details and maintain a high standard of design execution.

Your qualifications, skills and abilities

• Education in design (certificate or degree)

• 3-5 years of experience in an agency or corporate in-house graphic design department

• Experience with catalogues, brochures, signage, retail packaging and creating web based design including email blasts, web banners and front end web design.

• Experience in retail merchandising and product displays.

• A background in, or familiarity with residential interior design will be considered an asset

• Prepress experience necessary, as well as confidence in building and maintaining professional relationships with outside vendors/contractors (print shops, etc.) and managing timelines.

• Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Cloud (primarily InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator).

• Microsoft Office including Powerpoint.

• Creative direction of photography and experience shooting/editing an asset.
