GO Transit is pleased to announce a new opportunity for a Manager, GO Retail Marketing. At GO, we are working together to transform the way the region moves by developing a world-class transportation system. GO’s parent organization, Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario and oversees GO Transit, PRESTO, Rapid Transit Implementation (RTI), and the Union Pearson Express (UP Express). Their goal is to create a transportation network that enhances the prosperity, sustainability and quality of life for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA).

Reporting to the Director of Customer Care, you will demonstrate a mastery of marketing and online strategy, develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan that is focused on building GO’s awareness, ridership, retention, loyalty and increasing overall revenues. You will establish a marketing strategy that both supports GO Transit’s brand essence that will optimize their public perception and enhance their customer experience. Your commitment to quality control and best practices will be evident as you monitor public perceptions of GO Transit, its passenger usage and awareness as you develop effective campaigns responsive to market, business and retail conditions.

Strong customer and stakeholder relations is a fundamentally crucial aspect of this position as you manage of the relationship between GO Transit and its customers: you will work closely with frontline service and sales departments to ensure timely customer feedback, lead the development of online media strategies (social media and GO Transit website content), participate in building understanding of GO’s retail strategy through its marketing expression.

Additionally, you are tasked with negotiating vendor contracts, administering a marketing budget and developing business cases for revenue opportunities and returns on investment. Your people skills will extend not only to customers, but to staff building and engagement, as you manage the creation of a superior team.

  • Education: University degree in a marketing, business or related discipline, or the appropriate combination of education and work experience
  • Experience: 10 years of related experience
  • Certifications or Designations: Preference for Marketing qualifications
