Director of Marketing Full-Time

The Director, Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing the vision and business strategy for the internal and external marketing function in order to position Minto and its products as the company of choice.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Strategic Vision:

  • Plans, develops, and implements marketing, e-marketing and advertising strategies and initiatives across all channels to drive sales and growth;
  • Ensures that the products and services we offer our customers are consistent with our Brand Values and Purpose;
  • Develop social media strategies and plan;
  • Develops and execute consumer marketing strategies based on business goals, and market or sales needs; this includes marketing collateral, marketing campaigns, etc.;


  • Promotes the understanding and practice of decision-making consistent with Minto Brand “gates”: business results, trust, and innovation;
  • Coordinates and implement market and competitive research to analyze market trends, determine customer needs, maintain competitive advantages and proactively identify new marketing opportunities for existing/new products;
  • Investigates market conditions and opportunities through, market research and analysis within all key geographical areas of current and future operations;
  • Keeps current on market trends for the introduction of new product, and for the ongoing development of current product;
  • Monitors opportunities to adjust sales prices, at a pace that provides the right balance between maximizing profit and acceptable rates of sale;
  • Implement and monitor key metrics to evaluate the success of marketing and e-marketing initiatives this also involves providing post-campaign and programs results analysis;
  • Identify key opportunities to manage revenue generating strategies including retention for existing and new customers;
  • Manages relationships (i.e freelancers, construction personnel, architects, sales, customers, media) and for creative direction to develop effective, high impact marketing collateral based on the understanding of target customers, consumer patterns and market trends;
  • Works with the key business areas, and other supporting Minto teams internal and external to ensure the development, delivery and integration of a high quality customer experience that will enhance value for users and enable the business units to meet their business objectives;
  • Develops and implement customer retention and improved customer service initiatives;
  • Develops and monitor presence on major, applicable social media outlets;
  • Defines product and service positioning and differentiation, ensuring brand messaging is clear and consistent across all product lines at every customer touch point;
  • Identifies and reports any impediments to a healthy and safe work environment for clients, purchasers, contractors, suppliers and consultants;
  • Ensures execution of external customer experience projects, including marketing and communication campaigns, Mastercare, MyMinto, websites, outreach initiatives etc.;
  • Maintains proactive communication with internal customers through employee events, corporate messages, United Way Campaign, etc.
  • Oversees and assists with the creative process with internal and/or external creative services group for the development of marketing collateral;
  • Deals with escalated customer issues using effective solutions;

Financial Accountability:

  • Provides input and develops relevant aspects of the marketing and advertising budget;


  • Builds, manages, and maintains a high performance team through effective talent recruitment, coaching, and development;
  • Sets high standards, establishes accountabilities and measures performance consistent with Minto’s Values;
  • Ensures all parties adhere to health and safety standards and promote a healthy and safe work environment;
  • Other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management

Technical competencies:

  • Education: A University Degree or College Diploma is required
  • Experience: A minimum of ten (10+) years of relevant work experience including leading a team

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Microsoft Office (word and advanced excel), outlook
  • Knowledge of and experience with a broad range of design styles, design materials, & applications
  • Experience recommending design materials for interiors that meet specific client criteria
  • PowerPoint skills, accounting or financial systems experience is an asset
