Director, Fund Development & Marketing

The Leprosy Mission Canada is a Christian international development organization focused on serving those affected by leprosy and on eliminating the disease itself. We raise funds in Canada to support and manage work in India, Asia, South East Asia and Africa. The work of the organization in the field involves four domains of change: service delivery, strengthening in-country health care systems, research and advocacy.

We are seeking a Director, Fund Development & Marketing to join the senior management team in guiding the organization to future growth and increased effectiveness. The Director will be responsible for the fundraising and marketing initiatives and for supporting the Executive Director and senior management team in establishing the organization’s strategic position, direction and long-term value propositions.

This role will be best filled by a self-directed and results-oriented front-line professional with at least five years of experience in managing a diverse fundraising portfolio with a revenue target of $5+ million annually. The successful candidate will be a generalist with experience and/or familiarity with a broad range of individual giving and direct response marketing including: Direct Response TV, Direct Mail, Major Gifts and Donor Retention & Engagement. The individual should be comfortable in steering the marketing strategy initiatives for the organization.

Strong interpersonal and leadership talent will come into play as you build, nurture and maintain solid relationships with staff, donors and stakeholders. As a mentor for the highly functioning and energetic fundraising team of seven, you will provide direction, coaching and an environment for collaboration, trust and empowerment for all to excel and achieve success. You will bring to this position creative, strategic thinking as well as energy, maturity, professional dynamism and strong communication skills honed from your previous professional achievements. A CFRE designation and knowledge or work experience in the international development sector are preferred. Some experience with organization rebranding and social media would be favourable assets.

This position is based in Markham, Ontario and will involve some travel within Canada as well as occasional international travel to develop partnerships and work with suppliers.
