Position Overview

Our Communication and Marketing department is looking for digital content writer with experience on all platforms: (web/digital, social video, print, blogs, ad copy and infographics.

Accountabilities

Working with our Online Content Manager to create content for our new website (currently under development): banner ads, landing pages, blog entries, video scripts and more.

Attending meetings to gather input from stakeholders to support the content creation process and managing the content review process

Working with marketing team and product managers to create online content to support new product launches and corporate initiatives

Perform keyword research, create SEO-optimized content and develop original content ideas based on our target audience analytics

Applying best practices for content creation to all projects

Performing proofreading and editing as needed

Assisting Online Content Manager in managing the Aviva content hub and online content calendar

Creating content to support our social channels

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, & Skills

Degree or diploma in communications, journalism or other relevant area.

5 years relevant work experience – preferably on both agency and client side.

Passion for creating and consuming online content. Knowledge of trends and best practices for online content.

Experience writing for all platforms: web/digital, social, video, print, blogs, ad copy and infographics, and creating content relevant for defined target audiences

Patience and diplomacy to handle multiple rounds and levels of content review

Excellent proofreading and copy editing skills

Experience managing an editorial calendar

Knowledge of CP Style and experience working with corporate style/brand guides

An eye for good design

Interest in learning more about insurance ... and it’s not as boring as it sounds!

Proven ability to handle multiple projects and competing deadlines

First-rate problem solving and analytical skills. We need a team player who knows what needs to be done and works to get it done!

Thrives in fast-paced environments, is flexible, and loves to share their thoughts and ideas

Ability to work at both our Digital Garage in the financial district and Markham location (when needed)
