Digital Communications Support

This is a contract position

Contract Overview

Working collaboratively with the Communications & Marketing team, the Digital Communications Support contract is a detail-oriented, tech-savvy communications and marketing role responsible for supporting SelfDesign online communications and marketing activities. The role will require experience using a number of digital communications tools, as well as strong organizational and editing skills.

Contract Deliverables

  • Monitor communications mailbox and provide communications/marketing support to organizational projects, groups or teams as requested

  • Proofread and edit content to ensure that messages are coherent; reinforce strategic communications/marketing plans and adhere to brand standards

  • Prepare and upload content to digital media channels, including SelfDesign’s website, newsletters, email campaigns and social media channels

  • Monitor SelfDesign website content and functionality to ensure it is up-to-date, accurate and properly linked.

  • Organize and distribute email notifications and campaigns

  • Assist in organizing photo, video and brand assets, channels/apps/accounts and guidelines

  • Adhere to and promote appropriate use of brand, writing styles and a coherent approach to document use and files

  • Participate in online weekly team meetings and take meeting notes

  • Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • 3+ years of experience developing and implementing online communications and marketing activities and materials

  • Demonstrated experience using WordPress, simple HTML, SurveyMonkey, Canva and/or Photoshop and MailChimp

  • High level of proficiency with Google docs/email

  • Hands-on experience working with social media tools including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, and analytics tools

  • Well-organized, with superb editing skills and strong attention to detail

  • Ability to handle a large volume of emails/files and numerous activities/projects

  • Ability to take direction and work independently, while being part of a collaborative online work environment

  • Strong knowledge and interest in learning new computer software/programs

  • Previous office experience working in a fast-paced environment with daily deadlines

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with team members across the organization

  • Availability at regular times during Pacific time zone working hours

  • Fluency in written and spoken English
