Position Summary

Pickering College is seeking a creative, self-directed Content Marketing Coordinator to support the school’s enrolment, reputation, and community engagement goals through compelling, video-first storytelling.

Working within a collaborative three-person Communications team, this role is primarily responsible for planning, capturing, and producing high-quality video and visual content that brings the Pickering College experience to life across digital platforms. The successful candidate will work on campus daily, capturing authentic moments, student experiences, classroom learning, and community life, and translating them into engaging content for social media, the website, email, and digital campaigns.

This role is ideal for an early-career, video-centric content creator who is confident behind the camera, comfortable directing shoots in real-world environments, and motivated to grow their skills across content strategy, SEO, analytics, and campaign execution within an independent school setting.

Key Responsibilities
Video Production & Multimedia Storytelling (Primary Focus)

  • Plan, shoot, and edit short-form and long-form video content for social media (Reels, Stories, Shorts), the website, email marketing, and enrolment campaigns.
  • Capture on-campus life, including classroom activities, events, athletics, performances, student leadership, and community moments, with a strong storytelling and brand lens.
  • Produce timely, platform-appropriate video content to support campaigns, admissions priorities, and real-time engagement.
  • Manage video workflows from concept through final delivery, including basic scripting, shot planning, editing, captioning, and formatting.

Content Development & Roving Reporter

  • Act as a “roving reporter,” proactively identifying stories that highlight Pickering College’s people, programs, and values for distribution through channels including PC Connects, The Pillars magazine, and social media.
  • Build positive working relationships with students, faculty, and staff to facilitate natural, authentic content capture.
  • Write and edit supporting content, including social captions, short-form web copy, posts, and email content, aligned with brand voice and campaign goals.

Digital Content, SEO & Social Media

  • Create and publish digital content aligned with Pickering College’s marketing strategy, brand standards, and strategic priorities.
  • Apply foundational SEO principles, including keyword research and on-page optimization, to web and post content.
  • Develop a social media plan and maintain a robust editorial calendar to ensure consistent, strategic, and timely content across all digital channels.
  • Monitor and respond to comments as appropriate, and support community interaction across platforms to build followers and increase engagement.

Analytics & Continuous Improvement

  • Track performance across social media, website, and email using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hootsuite, and Finalsite CMS insights).
  • Assist with monthly reporting and campaign summaries.
  • Use insights to refine content formats, storytelling approaches, and publishing strategies over time.

Photography, Design & Asset Management

  • Capture high-quality photography of campus life and school events.
  • Design digital graphics and promotional materials using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
  • Organize, tag, and maintain a comprehensive asset library of images (Pixevety) and videos for ongoing promotional use.
  • Schedule and coordinate with external photographers and videographers, as required.

Team & Campaign Support

  • Support integrated marketing, enrolment, and communications initiatives that strengthen brand reputation, drive enrolment, and deepen community engagement.
  • Contribute creative ideas and solutions in a collaborative Communications team environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency in visual identity, typography, and brand standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
