SFU Continuing Studies is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic communications professional. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to growing awareness of Continuing Studies courses, programs and initiatives among prospective students, stakeholders and partners.

The Communications Coordinator will handle a wide variety of initiatives under the guidance of the Director, Marketing and Communications. Acting as a copywriting, copy editing, media relations and social media expert, this position is responsible for creating and updating content for various marketing materials, leading development and execution of external and internal communications projects, creating and implementing email marketing and social media campaigns.

The ideal candidate is a creative, organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented team player. Through a combination of education, training and experience, you have developed the ability to execute effective communication initiatives and to professionally manage relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, community leaders, and the general public.

The successful candidate will have a post-secondary degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Public Relations or related field with at least 4 years of experience in communications, media, public relations, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Outstanding communication skills in English and ability to write highly effective copy are a must. You must also have excellent knowledge of strategic and tactical aspects of branding and marketing, best practices in website design, email marketing, social media, and blogging. Experience with video production is preferred.
