PROFILE

We are currently seeking an energetic, detail-oriented team player to join our Business Development and Marketing Group. As a Communications Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for supporting and directly contributing to a variety of initiatives within the Marketing Department, with a specific focus on communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent's responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Writing copy for brochures, website content, internal announcements, newsletter articles, advertisements, legal guides and publications, and other marketing communications materials
  • Editing and proofreading a range of marketing communications materials according to in-house style guidelines
  • Developing editorial content for newsletters and other publications
  • Supporting media relations activities, including drafting news releases and media advisories, and assisting with media requests as necessary
  • Crafting key messages for specific groups, campaigns and initiatives
  • Co-ordinating the production and distribution of marketing communications materials
  • Providing a high level of service to internal clients both within the BD&M Group and the firm at large
  • Any other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma, ideally in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field
  • At least three years of experience in communications, public/media relations, advertising or a related field
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with strong knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and style (Canadian Press)
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; motivated to collaborate and co-operate with others to achieve the best-possible results
  • Openness to new ideas and strategies; desire to learn and gain expertise in new areas
  • Ability to multi-task, adapt quickly to changing priorities and deliver exceptional work in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail
  • Advanced skills in MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
