Web Designer & Developer full-time
The Web Designer & Developer is responsible for providing creative support on all Marketing efforts across varying mediums. This position will transform high-level project requirements into tangible user experiences, utilizing the latest standards in graphic design, usability and front-end development.
Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
Design (40%)
- Use the principals of good design to layout and format of all marketing and promotional materials; brochures, flyers, sell sheets, banners, ads, etc.
- Incorporate brand approved elements (photography, illustrations, graphic elements, typography and copy) together into a well designed message
- Wireframe and design graphics for websites and micro-sites utilizing strong usability principals to create interfaces that meet experience standards
- Adhere to the creative workflow process; attending briefing meetings, producing multiple design comps and working iteratively with project stakeholders through concept to completion
- Take ownership and pride in delivering and completing clean, high-quality, pixel-perfect designs in line with our brand standards
- Use design periodicals, on-line research and other assorted media outlets to gain inspiration for developing concepts and executing designs
Front-end development (50%)
Capable of hand coding HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Experience in developing standards compliant markup
Understanding of common cross browser issues and capable of working around them
Stay up-to-date with browser changes and help define browser standards
Use of browser debugging tools (Dev Tools, Firebug)
Strong understanding of SEO and how it relates to development
Multimedia (10%)
Capable of executing a photo shoot using professional photography hardware
Capture, edit, animate and produce marketing promotional videos
Develop and execute digitally animated presentations

Education, Certification & Licenses:
Post-secondary education in graphic design or related experience (corporate environment is an asset)
Experience:
Over 3 years experience working in a Marketing environment
Diverse portfolio strong on the creative side
Computer/Tools/Equipment/Software Skills:
Strong understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver) and web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML
Ability to build PowerPoint presentations and understanding of Microsoft Office
Proficiency in both MAC and PC
