Web Design & Marketing Specialist Full-Time

Do you possess web design skills as well as a passion for turning design into creative marketing campaigns?  BuildDirect is currently expanding our marketing team and looking for a motivated Web Design/Marketing Specialist to join our head office in downtown Vancouver.  As the Web Design/Marketing Specialist, you will be a key cog of BuildDirect’s demand generation efforts and be responsible for driving traffic to our site through compelling, creative online campaigns.

You are an innovative, creative thinker who leans on data to aid decision-making and assist in the creative process.  You possess 1 - 2 years’ experience in a web design or marketing environment and are always up to date with the latest industry news and standards.  You have a passion for design and ability to create compelling online campaigns that connect all online verticals from social to email.


  • Develop concepts for and design collateral materials including banner adverts, landing pages and supporting material for online campaigns
  • Assist in development and promotion of BuildDirect.com brand through all social media channels
  • Work closely with Marketing team to determine needs and objectives of online campaigns; constantly optimizing based on data analysis and filling in holes whenever they occur
  • Effective management of ad budgets, maximizing return on ad spend

Required Skills:

  • Degree or Diploma in Arts, Fine Arts, Web/Graphic Design, Advertising/Public Relations with a strong emphasis on web/graphic design or related area and high level desktop publishing would also be considered
  • Excellent working knowledge in the following areas is preferred (1-2 years experience):
    • HTML, PHP, CSS & Web Standards (ASP.net knowledge is a plus)
    • Adobe Photoshop
    • Adobe Illustrator
    • Adobe Dreamweaver
  • Adaptability and up-to-date knowledge of new developments in web/graphic design and publishing software
  • Strong analytical skills
    • Working knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • Self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills


  • Achieve 25% improvement on Revenue Per Lead from Display Campaigns within three months
  • Achieve 25% improvement on key engagement metrics such as bounce rate, time on site and CPA goals for new landing pages within three months
  • Complete 12 unique landing page designs and 30 banner ads within three months
