We are currently seeking a Strategic Communications Designer

As an UrtheCast Strategic Communications Designer you will be responsible for a full range of UrtheCast marketing collateral, from the company website to tradeshow brochures.  He or she will work closely with various departments, take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them seamlessly into images, layouts, videos or other designs. This role is directly responsible for maintaining the Company’s Corporate Brand Standards and applying these guidelines throughout their day-to-day work.

This role is for you if you have an eye for detail and always deliver outstanding, reliable service to your internal and external customers. Your ability to interact, communicate and present ideas will be key to achieving success in this role.

KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Promotional Materials
    • Create all promotional materials for the corporate office, develops overall layout and production design for promotional material
    • Proof reading to produce accurate high-quality work
    • Liaise with external printers on a regular basis to ensure deadlines are met and material is printed in the highest quality
  • Corporate Website
    • Work with the selected web provider on the overall design of the corporate website
    • Work with key stakeholders to develop a website that communicates key messages
    • Update, maintain, and manage website
    • Ensure web-based applications meet business and user requirements
  • Corporate Brand Standards
    • Maintain consistency within all brand assets and ensure work accuracy reflects the corporate brand
    • Maintain the brand book and make adjustments/updates as the corporate identity evolves
  • Media Content
    • Work with a variety of media to design graphics, imagery and video for various marketing initiatives including the website, media outlets, tradeshow booths, presentations, social media, email campaigns, etc.
  • New Design Concepts
    • Create new designs, graphics, layouts, logos, etc.
  • Briefs and Presentations
    • Work with a variety of teams across the organization that all require unique material
    • Create brief and present ideas to obtain buy in from key stakeholders and be successful in the role
  • Graphic Design Materials
    • Organize, share and manage the assets created in a variety of locations that can be accessed by internal and external customers
  • Other Duties as Required

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Post-secondary degree in Design, Marketing or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar position

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

  • Advanced in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere (Video editing), and Adobe After Effects (Animation/video)
  • Web Design / HTML/CSS
  • UI/UX design
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically PowerPoint and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excellent time management
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Understanding of latest design trends
  • People management skills
  • Ability to interface confidently with various management and executive levels
  • Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism from peers and co-workers
  • Experience working with websites
  • Ability to take initiative in a fast-paced environment and wear many hats
  • Excellent IT skills
