Social Media Specialist Full-Time

This newly created role will collaborate with the Sales & Marketing Team to develop and execute an online product experience to actively engage our clients


  • Minimum of one (1) year of Online marketing, Social Media marketing and/or journalism experience required
  • Degree in Marketing, journalism and/or new media
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency in the principles, concepts, practices, techniques and tools in the areas of marketing and communications
  • Passion for digital marketing and communications
  • Highly creative and innovative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, highly collaborative in nature
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines with close attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; including proof reading
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office Suite);
  • Expert knowledge of social networking channels
  • Ability to effectively respond to and meet the needs of a diverse client base


  • Proactively identify opportunities to grow our Hotel’s social media channels with an eye for innovation and “outside the box” thinking
  • Monitor all social channels including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, while developing appropriate and timely responses
  • Creating engaging and informative content for our social media channels; duties may also include developing and/or revising text for other venues, including online communities, press releases, web articles and video blogs
  • Proactively build, develop, maintain and manage strong relationships with various suppliers to ensure successful execution of social media plans and initiatives
  • Develop and implement an effective communication plan to manage our Hotel’s social media content
  • Work with the Sales & Marketing Team to execute against the plan to ensure content reinforces our Hotel’s positioning and is consistent across all touch-points
  • Track, analyze and report on social marketing activity gathering insight in order to optimize communications and ensure an effective overall content strategy
