Tourism Kelowna is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and highly organized individual to fill the position of Social Media & Marketing Coordinator.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will use your considerable expertise and passion for social media and marketing to increase Kelowna’s visibility and brand appeal. Your efforts will amplify audience reach, and in doing so you will encourage authentic online endorsements of our destination.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain a social media editorial calendar and produce daily, weekly and monthly content for relevant channels;
  • Monitor and cultivate relationships with Tourism Kelowna stakeholders, influencers, ambassadors, visitors, and locals;
  • Utilize social analytic tools to track, interpret and evaluate performance of social media initiatives;
  • Monitor the integrity and performance of all online collaterals;
  • Manage web content to ensure it is accurate, optimized, and up to date;
  • Coordinate, program and distribute HTML email campaigns and analyze results;
  • Regularly monitor, analyze and optimize SEO for all Tourism Kelowna online properties and assets;
  • Coordinate a variety of consumer marketing initiatives including collateral production, trade shows, contests;
  • Maintain detailed statistics, tracking and reporting as well as competitive set and market share analysis;

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in marketing, or related field;
  • Extensive social media experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Google+, and other relevant social media channels;
  • Superior abilities with Microsoft Office Professional and Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and InDesign;
  • In-depth understanding of HTML, CSS, SEM, SEO, PPC, WordPress, and DNS;
  • Proficient with platforms such as HootSuite, Sprout Social, Facebook Insights, Google Analytics;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Adept at inter-personal relationship building, collaboration, and customer service skills;
  • High degree of initiative, creativity, problem solving abilities, and organization;

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Kelowna and Kelowna’s tourism products;
  • Experience with CMS and CRM database software as well as electronic direct mail platforms and analytic software reports;
  • Previous experience within the tourism industry an asset;
  • Experience with editing audio and video;
