Overview of Role:

Reporting to the Director, Communications and Outreach, the Specialist, Communications and Social Media will be a communications professional with an expertise in social media strategies. A key member of the communications and outreach team, the Specialist will lead the development of strategic communications campaigns and be responsible for setting and managing the social media influencer strategy for the Partnership.

Qualifications

  • Superior knowledge of corporate communications and digital and social media, particularly in the health care area
  • Plain language skills and experience translating scientific and technical information into social media
  • Excellent technical skills to enable social media content creation and preparing creative briefs
  • Skilled content creator including integrated communications across multiple platforms and formats
  • Working knowledge of content creation software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and ability to do basic video edits and file conversions with software such as iMovie, Movie Maker
  • Experience in photography and video production including ability to enhance, crop and resize
  • Experience in designing and delivering media relations and strategic communications plans
  • A commitment to collaboration and a joint-accountability approach
  • Strong internal and external relationship management skills, including stakeholder management at the provincial and/or national levels, and ability to interact and work effectively with colleagues in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
  • Proven project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; in both official languages an asset
  • Self-motivated with initiative; focused on quality orientation with an attention to detail
  • Adaptability, flexibility, diplomacy and tact
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task within a fast-paced environment
