Format is looking for a passionate, experienced SEO Manager to join our mission to further entrench Format as the world’s leading online portfolio builder and platform for visual artists.  As our SEO Manager, you’ll report into our Head of Direct Marketing and will be responsible for applying your exceptional and ever increasing SEO know-how towards meeting and exceeding our new customer acquisition goals.  From enhancing and building out our overall SEO strategy to technical audits, onsite and offsite optimization, you’ll help take Format to the forefront in a very competitive search-driven category.  You’ll also work closely with our marketing copywriter, web designer and the entire marketing team to optimize our efforts to drive our brand, our reach  and our growth.

Desired skills and experience:

As our SEO Manager you’ll be pretty busy with lots to test and scale, so you’ll need to have 3-4 years of demonstrated expertise in:

  • Comprehensive SEO Planning and Execution: This is not a role for a one-trick SEO pony.  You’ll need to dig deep into your expertise in all areas of SEO as you’ll touch and  influence so many areas of our marketing practice.  You’ll have resources to help execute but you’ll be at the center of it all driving the strategy, analysis, execution and results.

  • Deep Data and Analytical Skills: From audits, to keywords, to site-speeds to competitive research, you’ll live in data and research and will be a master of spreadsheets to drive decisions and measure results.  You are super organized and on top of your data.  You also have outstanding competitive analysis skills, and access to the tools and techniques to keep us on top as we are up against some formidable competitors.

  • Technical and Functional SEO Content Design: You’ll be highly collaborative with our Marketing Copywriter and in that relationship, you’ll bring your outstanding expertise in content structure, length, keyword density, and overall content quality (after all people need to like and value the content) to ensure that our content not only ranks, but engages and educates.

  • Link Building: You’ll have a proven track record of successfully approaching and building relationships with other companies, brands and bloggers wrt pitching contributed content.

  • Collaboration: While you enjoy putting your head down to get things done you also enjoy the thrill of collaboration and contributing to a larger team goal of growth, happiness, and success.

  • You are absolutely passionate about the creative and visual artist community
