EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

Reporting to the UX Development Manager, the successful candidate will work with an integrated UX design & development team that’s focused on building great interactive design experiences. We are looking for people that are eager to learn, creative and resourceful in getting things to work and productive working independently or collaboratively. You are expected to:

• Solid grasp of software engineering principles with passion for delivering the best user experiences
• Collaborate closely with UX designers and development teams to deliver high quality, testable code and UI components
• Translate UX requirements and deliver high-quality results in timely manner
• Practice quality excellence through test techniques, process, frameworks and tools
• Embrace emerging technology and standards. Understand how it will advance our strategic direction
• Adaptable to challenges and flexible with changes
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with colleagues across all levels, teams, location and willing to take ownership

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Experience with implementing and following design patterns and coding best practices
• Experience working with a quality assurance team, and the use of testing scripts and practices
• Strong competency with front end frameworks, and working with RESTful API’s
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience in lean and agile software development

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science (or related subject)
• 5+ years professional experience in front end development roles
• Hands on experience with JavaScript (from scratch), jQuery, HTML5, CSS3 (SASS or LESS) with a solid understanding of object oriented programming
• Familiar with DRY principles, and a dedication to writing clean, reusable code in a shared codebase
• Experience with responsive development
• Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & Sketch
• Able to understand and play an active role in the development of the front end stack, and the integration points between front end and back end technologies
• Working in a SaaS environment is preferred but not required
• Bonus: Experience using Docker; implementing accessibility practices into web applications
