Job Summary:

The Senior Manager, Social Media leads the Social Media team, strategy and mandate for Tangerine. This role will take ownership of all Tangerine social media activities and strategies and is driven to create value for Tangerine Clients and followers. You will be driven to simplify, differentiate and innovate in order to provide a superior social media and digital experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall execution of the Tangerine Social Media Strategy ensuring there is a clear plan to execute this strategy

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Social Media team and various other internal stakeholders

  • Contribute strategy and solutions to new business efforts as it relates to Social Media

  • Proactively introduce new ideas and initiatives

  • Be the voice of Tangerine in Social Media

  • Develop and execute online outreach strategy

  • Establish relationship with key bloggers and online influencers

  • Establish relationships with key contacts in various Tangerine departments to better serve Clients through social media

  • Working with our PR team to help manage the influencer relationship

  • Maintaining organized records of influencers and other important data

  • Delivering the Social Media elements of marketing campaigns on time and on budget

  • Developing metrics to measure Social Media efforts

  • Monitor social networks for potential threats or opportunities

  • Develop policies and guidelines pertaining to social media participation and social governance

  • A solid understanding of the “big picture”, both online and in business world

  • Simplify, innovate and differentiate with a mandate to provide a superior digital and social media experience

Requirements:

  • Passion for social media, technology and the online space
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities to ensure maximum productivity and focused business results
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and evolving team environment
  • Good project management skills to implement assigned projects on time as identified in project plans
  • A high degree of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management, analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to execute a number of parallel tasks and use interpersonal skills to foster / manage relationships across multiple departments

Qualifications:

  • A university degree in business or equivalent
  • Demonstrated digital and interactive leadership experience
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in Online Marketing with a solid track record of success in implementing online marketing strategies, mobile, online media and SEO campaigns
  • A minimum of 7 of years of experience in Web Development
  • A minimum of 5 of years of experience in social media
  • A minimum of 3+ of years of experience developing business or marketing plans and cross functional team environment experience
  • Project management experience an asset
