Honeypot Marketing is an Inbound Marketing agency located in Uptown Waterloo. We work with scrappy start-ups and established public facing companies to engage consumers with the goal of turning them into brand advocates.

This involves evangelizing the power of technology and social media, strategic planning, software development, content creation, public relations, landing page design, advertising management, campaign asset creation and email communications.

The PPC Specialist at Honeypot Marketing is responsible for directing traffic to company and client websites from search engines, social sites such as Google, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter and Bing.

Search engine optimization (SEO) duties are also be part of the job, which involves generating keywords that consumers may use on search engines and also utilizing techniques to increase company's' presence on search engines and direct more traffic to their websites.

You will work with marketing, content and design departments to create campaigns and advertisements which entice leads to landing pages and convert to a goal.

PPC managers also perform analytics and may work with an analytics team to determine which strategies were successful and how they can be improved. Some analyses are done in real time, and changes may need to be made quickly for the right results.

It is essential that you stay up-to-date with all the latest developments in the field so strategies can be updated regularly. Working directly with consumers and performing consumer-testing and surveys may also be part of the job.

3 years of experience in a similar position and certification in Google AdWords certification are required for this position. You are Google Certified and proficient in AdWords, Bing Ads, Facebook Ads Manager and Twitter Ads Manager.

As a PPC Specialist you will be responsible for the following:

Google AdWords, Facebook, Twitter, and Bing PPC campaign management:

  1. Work within client budgets and seek methods of lowering the cost to the client per click.
  2. Monitor major search engines for trends related to PPC campaign, analyze campaign performance, and report findings to clients.
  3. Develop PPC campaigns for clients which optimize visibility, oversee graphics design, copywriting, and keyword selection.
  4. Management and ownership of WordStream, AdEspresso, Unbounce and ClickFunnels.

Identifying and executing new traffic channels including:

  1. Partnerships, influencer relationships, email marketing co-promotion.
  2. Constant improvement of advertising and messaging within all campaigns.
  3. Optimization of message, campaign terms and lifecycle development.
  4. Ensure the highest quality of work and service for in-house and client campaigns

Report completion and final responsibility for weekly recommendations:

  1. Ensure the team collaborates on in depth recommendations.
  2. Identify new metrics for measurement depending on specific client needs.
  3. Co-ordinate with the team new mini-campaigns and programs to ensure the content schedule is dynamic and effective.

Have a deep and ever growing understanding of paid channel metrics and analytics as they apply to campaign performance.

  1. Ensure the team understands key traffic metrics we are concerned with optimizing.
  2. Ensure no PPC channels and campaigns are fully optimized.
  3. Propose or discuss changes to  paid strategies and plans with the team members and clients.

Client front-line communication and bi-weekly update management:

  1. You will schedule & lead these meetings. This may mean delegating some functions to a team member however final responsibility for execution.
  2. Provide the client with strategic and upcoming tactical paid updates.
  3. Break down next steps, provide meeting summaries.
  4. Ensure contest & mini-campaign updates are delivered on a daily and weekly basis.Provide content support to paid activities from (d) and also lead any shift in execution based on the results found in (d).

You've also got the following skills:

  • 3 years of PPC/SEM experience with proven knowledge of various components, tactics and channels (we know we already said that).
  • Proven track record in delivering results from unbranded search.
  • Demonstrable project management & campaign execution experience.
  • Creative, inventive thinker and problem-solver with a 'can do' and 'will do' attitude.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships & work flows involving diverse operational groups.
  • Motivated, outgoing personality with solid command of the English language (written & spoken).
  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML, SEO, Google Analytics (incl. Google Tag Manager) & Social Ad Platforms (eg. Facebook Audiences) is required.
