PRODUCTION SPECIALIST (in Graphic Design) – Competition Number 17-68R

Kwantlen Polytechnic University has an opening for a full time, permanent Production Specialist to work in our Marketing and Communications department located on our Surrey campus.Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, the Production Specialist will be responsible for the creative graphic conceptualization, design, production and coordination of a variety of marketing materials (print and electronic) for departments and service areas in the University – ultimately, to recruit students and increase overall institutional awareness.

The Production Specialist will develop proactive, collaborative and strategic business partnerships that will individually market each department effectively and specific to their needs.  The focus will be to develop and execute strategic marketing and communications plans that enhance or facilitate growth and development of departmental business objectives. The successful incumbent will be responsible for providing support to the Marketing department and working with other departments in all aspects of University marketing and communications. This includes planning, developing and administering program/service marketing functions relating to the design and coordination of a variety of marketing materials, advertising, student recruitment and community liaison activities.

The successful candidate will have a degree or diploma in Graphic Design or degree in Communications, plus a minimum of 3 years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of Graphic Design and Communications experience proven with a current portfolio. Current formal training in graphic design, internet marketing, technical and marketing writing is necessary as well as 3 years demonstrated progressive experience in website design and social media planning and development.  Advanced working knowledge of website design software including DreamWeaver, Photoshop, Flash MX, HTML, CSS, etc and demonstrated experience with website content management systems essential.
