SUMMARY
Reporting to the VP, Marketing, as Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the outbound marketing activities for your products. You will craft the messaging and positioning for products. You'll conceive and develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits are crucial. In your role as a Product Marketing Manager you will be the expert in buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria and will transfer that knowledge to the sales channel. You will work collaboratively with the Senior Product Manager, Marketing Communications Manager, and PR Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates your products in the current target market, and for new adjacent markets
- Sales enablement
- Communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develop the sales tools that support the selling process of your products, including developing content for case studies, brochures, datasheets, online product videos, webinars, and the corporate website
- Manage the channel partner marketing program, ensuring the channel is appropriately equipped with sales tools and marketing support
- Determine and manage demo requirements and demo sets
- Product launch
- Plan the launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan, which involves marketing communications, operations, professional services, and partner management teams, in addition to others
- Market intelligence
- Be the expert on your buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria
- Be the expert on your competition and how to crush them
- Demand generation
- Develop the strategy and manage the marketing programs that drive demand for your products
- Develop and implement e-mail marketing campaigns to nurture leads and shorten the sales cycle, tracking results
- Thought leadership
- Determine strategy and develop content for white papers, speaking opportunities, and other thought leadership vehicles
- Social media
- Manage and execute on the social media marketing strategy, including usage of sites such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn Forums, and YouTube
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of software product marketing experience with at least 2 years’ experience in a field or customer facing role
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing
- Exceptional writing and communication skills, including ability to write/edit copy and collateral to conform to a prescribed style and format
- Independent, self-starter with organized managerial work habits
- Expert user of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Ability to effectively present information to management
- Flexible, with experience working in collaborative teams
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships and interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties.
- Strong business acumen
- Must be willing travel 25%
