PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The primary purpose of this newly created position is to create awareness, generate demand of our growing portfolio of products/services and to enable a market-driven approach to product management and development.

KEY STAKEHOLDERS:

  • Business Development - Provide sales-enablement materials, both print and electronic
  • Customer Success - Develop various marketing communication strategies (social media, storytelling, customer training etc.) to drive customer engagement
  • Product Management - Provide market-driven data and feedback on products and services
  • Sales - Generate demand for products and services, with a strong focus on product positioning, awareness and messaging

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND SUPPORTING TASKS:

Key Accountability - Demand Generation

Supporting Tasks

  • Collaborate with Product Management counterparts to develop expert understanding of the functions, values and competitive differentiation of SSM’s products and services
  • Create product awareness through various inbound marketing activities
  • Develop product messaging, core positioning and value proposition that differentiate SSM’s products in the market

Key Accountability - Market Research and Analysis

Supporting Tasks

  • Research industry trends and gather customer opinions to identify customer-perceived value and enhancements to current features and functionalities
  • Provide focused, market-driven feedback to the Product Management team on product and solution directions

Key Accountability - Content Marketing

Supporting Tasks

  • Create and distribute valuable, relevant and consistent content/sales enablement materials (whitepapers, newsletters, brochures, manuals, blog posts, social media posts etc.) to attract and retain clearly defined audiences
  • Collaborate with Sales, Business Development and Customer Success to develop a marketing communications strategy and establish an operational plan and associated implementation budget
  • Plan, develop and coordinate marketing communications and promotional materials, with a focus on broader aspects such as product image and industry profile, rather than technical product specifics

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

We want to work with the successful candidate to develop metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the 3 main accountabilities described above.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION/TRAINING:

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Engineer, Computer Science or related discipline
  • At least 3 years of professional Marketing experience in the online advertising and/or digital media space
  • Experience researching, designing and developing pre and post sales client facing content

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience using SalesForce
  • Experience working in a B2B marketing space

propositions for materials
  • Excellent track record in developing effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated competence driving continuous improvement and operating with flexibility

  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks under pressure in a constantly changing environment
