Position Title: Product Marketing Manager
Position Mandate: This role is accountable for the performance of the giftcertificates.ca product. This includes managing all elements of the product including introduction of new features and functionality, developing pricing for the product, understanding the competitive landscape for the product, and supporting sales initiatives to increase product penetration. Supporting critical distribution channels through the effective development and execution of promotions, marketing plans, merchandising and placements is paramount for this position. This role is accountable for managing the established goals for the products.
Key Activities Include (but are not limited to):
Accountable for being the Product and industry subject-matter “Expert” related to the Product
Responsible for managing all elements of the product life cycle, including launch of new product features, ongoing management of core product features, and retirement of product functionalities that become outdated or redundant
Responsible for maintaining and refining all aspects of product marketing – i.e., Positioning, Branding, Targeting, Packaging, Pricing, Promotions, etc
Responsible for working with product development to create and maintain a Product “Roadmap” that identifies new products features and functionality to enhance the offering over the next 12 – 24 months
Responsible for creating Business Cases to support the prioritization and development of new product features or enhancements, and performing product profitability analysis
Responsible for defining the Business Requirements that describe new product features and functionality to the product development/technology team
Drive acquisition, negotiation, and management of third party alliances
Responsible for creating, maintaining, and disseminating detailed product documentation to be used as the “authoritative reference” by various internal stakeholders and as source content for externally-facing Product Marketing materials and/or sales collateral materials
Responsible for collecting, interpreting, and disseminating competitive intelligence to understand the competitive landscape for products
Responsible for creating sales and client facing collateral, promoting products through campaigns, newsletters, website, press release, industry trade shows, testimonials, case studies etc.
Responsible for supporting sales channels by providing product collateral, product positioning, competitive intelligence, training etc and, as required, participating in client presentations
Responsible for participating in cross functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Retention, Sales Planning, Client Services, Operations, Product Development, Finance, and Legal to deliver new product initiatives
Responsible for providing input to revenue and expense planning for the product during the corporate business planning cycle
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing with minimum 5 years experience
Strong Product Management and Problem-Solving experience
