We are currently looking for a Product Manager.  The Product Manager manages the lifecycle of products within an assigned product portfolio in both North America and the EU including competitive pricing, new/replacement and/or add-on products and obsolescence.  Through development and execution of product plans the Product Manager drives product growth and margin targets within their portfolio.   Reporting to the Director, Product Management, this position works closely with members of the Sales Team, Supply Chain and Product Marketing teams in order to achieve overall product growth and profitability.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Manage product lines by:

Ø  developing and maintaining an extensive understanding of the competition and competitors’ products

Ø  working closely with the Pricing and Cost Analyst to manage pricing strategy for the product line

Ø  managing the product lifecycle from launch to market exit

Ø  drive product selection process for new products, replacement products and add-on products

Ø  understanding technology and market demands in order to develop new product opportunities for market segments

Ø  communicating with vendors on product related issues

  • Collaborating with Product Marketing to market product lines by:

Ø  being the product champion; developing market plans for products with clear sales and profitability objectives and review quarterly

Ø  working with marketing communications to create demand within key vertical and horizontal markets including print media, trade shows, direct marketing, and web marketing.

Ø  defining requirements for packaging and documentation

Ø  ensuring all website content is complete, accurate and compelling

Ø  providing information/education sessions to sales teams as they relate to product, competitors and the marketplace

Ø  serving as a subject matter expert when speaking with key customers and press relating to the product line

Ø  occasionally attending trade shows and customer visits

This position will appeal to someone with a passion for technology who has the ability to balance short term product demands while focusing on future technology requirements, solid research and analytical skills.  Managing a P&L is critical.  Preference will be given to anyone with certification in Product Management (ex. AIPMM or PMC).
