We're looking for an innovative and ambitious product designer to join our design team with the goal of helping us vastly improve how Canadians experience with invest and get financial advice.

You'll work in a small design team to create user-centred solutions for different departments, primarily the Product and Marketing teams. Your focus will be improving existing the existing product, as well as creating new product & marketing experiences. In the often complex and confusing space of finance, one of your key goals is to simplify financial concepts and tasks so that Canadians can easy accomplish them, even with minimal financial knowledge.

What skills you bring to the team

• Experience with the principles of user-centred design, information architecture, usability testing, and UX best practices
• Experience with visual or UI design
• A user-centric approach that utilizes research and user-testing to validate design and evaluate design decisions
• Ability to work through a large portion of the design process, from wireframes to developer hand off
• Drive and initiative: when you see a problem, your first instinct is to find the best solution

What will you be doing

• Working with WealthBar's cross functional team of developers, designers, and financial experts to design great web and mobile experiences for our clients
• Working in a small, collaborative design team on Product & Marketing initiatives or improvements
• Responsible for an end-to-end product design process, from wireframe prototypes to final development-ready design
• Validating design through research, interviews, and usability tests
• Helping plan and prioritize the product roadmap with an understanding of the user & their goals

Required experience

• At least 2-3 years of experience in UI, UX, and/or Product design
• Formal education in a design discipline
• A portfolio showcasing your experience and work
• Experience designing for web and mobile technology

You'll stand out if you have

• Over 5 years of experience in UI, UX, and/or Product design
• Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing
• Comfortable with every part of the design process, from user research to final development-ready designs
• Interest and/or knowledge about personal finance and investing
