Sotheby’s International Realty Canada is seeking an experienced, multi-talented (Online) Marketing Specialist to join our national marketing team.

Reporting to the VP, Marketing and working from our new corporate office at Beatty/Smithe, our ideal candidate is passionate about real estate and has a solid background in managing a wide range of digital, web, email and ideally, traditional marketing programs— preferably in an agency or technology environment. You combine technical competency with strong writing skills, a client-service oriented demeanor, stellar project management abilities and are an experienced self-starter. This is a growth-oriented position that offers the opportunity to work with a world-class brand, on  digital and technology initiatives that include a consumer website with close to 2 million unique annual visitors and a technology solution that meets the needs of a national network.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Project Coordination

Assist in the project management of major website enhancements, landing pages/microsites, SEM/online ad campaigns, technical bug fixes change requests, as well as marketing communications projects:

  • Maintain project schedules, status reports, timelines
  • Provide project coordination and billing support
  • Monitor and facilitate project progress, keeping key stakeholders updated on status
  • Ensure thorough quality assurance, testing and proofreading on all new web pages, landing pages and online portals across browsers and mobile devices

Email Campaign Management

Spearhead the development, deployment, quality assurance testing, list management and reporting for corporate and office level emails:

  • Provide copywriting, editing and proofreading support of email content when necessary
  • Manage the creative development process with internal design resources
  • Secure internal approvals and manage revisions
  • QA, proofread and test all email campaigns and push pages to ensure accuracy and tracking prior to release
  • Deploy emails using MailChimp
  • Manage email lists, ensuring proper naming conventions and organization
  • Reporting results of corporate email campaigns on a monthly basis, noting trends and making recommendations for improvement

Content Marketing, Copywriting and Optimization

Create new copy and content for Sotheby’s International Realty Canada’s primary website, campaign landing pages, online fulfillment pieces, related micro-sites and other marketing communications materials:

  • Research, write, edit and proofread new copy and content
  • Write for SEO— proactively update, analyze and optimize content, using keyword terms, metadata and other methods to optimize search engine positions
  • Update existing on-site materials as necessary
  • Liaise with external writers, copyeditors, translators when necessary
  • Upload new content using web and email content management platforms

Online Training & Support

Continuously increase and improve the usage of sothebysrealty.ca’s features and tools by our agents and staff across Canada:

  • Write technical documentation and training materials for sothebysrealty.ca, ensuring that training materials are created or updated with each major features release
  • Work collaboratively with marketing/office support staff to clearly and effectively promote the roll-out of new features and ensure their adoption by staff and agents
  • Host regular webinars and training sessions to increase awareness and usage of sothebysrealty.ca’s core features
  • Support local marketing/office staff in conducting local orientation and training sessions
  • Provide timely technical support to marketing/support staff (and agents) via telephone, email and IM

Brand Ambassadorship & Compliance

Ensure the integrity and quality of the Sotheby’s International Realty Canada marketing materials by providing direct support to agents and staff:

  • Provide agents, office managers and national marketing staff with timely answers to questions on corporate marketing initiatives and brand standards
  • Work directly with new and existing agents to ensure brand compliance of their websites and marketing materials
  • Work with agents’ third-party graphic and web designers as required to ensure delivery of brand compliant agent marketing materials
  • Communicate local, national and international Sotheby’s International Realty marketing opportunities to agents and offices
  • Conduct orientation and training sessions with agents to familiarize them with brand resources, tips, tricks and tools.

Analytics & Reporting

Manage regular traffic reporting and analytics for all websites, landing pages and online campaigns:

  • Report metrics, flag issues, and provide recommendations for improvement and make suggestions
  • Prepare Word, PDF, Excel spreadsheets, tables, charts, images and other documents as required for projects, presentations and reporting etc.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in online marketing or digital project management, preferably in an agency or technology environment
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a portfolio of writing samples (online or print)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to lead training presentations and webinars
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, objectives and deadlines
  • Familiarity with all aspects of the creative and production process for websites and email campaigns, from project initiation and creative development, through to HTML and QAing
  • Some technical background, with knowledge of HTML/XHTML/CSS, content management systems and a familiarity with website programming languages
  • Experience with web analytics, including proficiency with Google Analytics
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel, as well as presentation software such as Powerpoint and Keynote
  • Bachelor’s or technical degree in web/online marketing, computer programming, or an appropriately related field

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in training, coaching or technical support an asset
  • Experience in facilitating online training webinars an asset
  • Hands on experience in managing lists and deploying emails through Mailchimp or other enterprise level online email marketing solution an asset
  • Basic Adobe Photoshop skills an asset
