The Online Marketing Coordinator will play an integral role on the marketing team, assisting in areas of campaign research, planning, execution and analysis.  The Online Marketing Coordinator is given tasks related to all aspects of paid search marketing.  You will create pay-per-click campaigns, generate reports, evaluate and analyze results, assist the Paid Marketing Manager with optimizations, and give recommendations on how to improve current marketing strategies.  The incumbent will have both an entrepreneurial spirit and a critical-thinking/decision making process that is data-centric.

Duties:

  • Performing research on target audiences, competitive landscape and relevant keywords as they relate to search, using various tools such as the Google Keyword Tool, Google Analytics and more to identify industry search behaviours, PPC, organic traffic comparison and paid search spend
  • Analysing existing paid search strategies, and providing actionable insights and recommendations for improvement; identifying PPC opportunities to maximize online exposure on search engines and content networks
  • Developing strategic PPC campaigns based on research and insights
  • Identifying high-value terms, including short- and long-tail keywords as appropriate
  • Organizing keywords into focused ad groups
  • Determining appropriate keyword match types and bidding strategies
  • Writing targeted and compelling PPC ad copy in accordance with industry guidelines, testing ad messaging and calls-to-action to positively impact conversion rates
  • Designating relevant landing pages per ad group that will positively impact the performance of a given campaign
  • Selecting appropriate search placements and tactics, including but not limited to search and content networks, remarketing, sitelinks, rich ads in search
  • Implementing keywords, ad groups, ad copy and landing page URLs into campaign management interfaces
  • Launching, monitoring, evaluating and optimising paid search campaigns over the campaign period
  • Working collaboratively with marketing team to provide input (from a search perspective) into demand generation plans that will assist in achieving demand generation goals and objectives
  • Working collaboratively with the Analytics group to: identify key performance metrics and develop campaign projections, ensure paid search campaigns are achieving campaign goals and meeting targets, interpret campaign results to develop actionable insights that will improve campaign performance
  • Working collaboratively with the Paid Search Marketing Manager to further refine PPC best practices and procedures
  • Developing and presenting interim and post-campaign results reports, highlighting campaign performance in a compelling and client-friendly format
  • Participating in inter-departmental and client meetings as required to represent the Digital Media group and speak to SEO and paid search campaigns’ status

Employment Requirements:

  • 2 years experience developing, managing and reporting on successful marketing campaigns
  • Degree or diploma in marketing, communications, e-business or similar
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges
  • A self-starter and independent worker
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of and/or experience working with online analytics platform(s), e.g., Google Analytics
