Position Overview

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the company’s Digital Strategies and Services organization. They will need to think quantitatively and analytically as well as creatively to identify and solve problems. At least 3 years of experience in using data to enable, drive and support website improvements, along with excellent critical thinking skills and strong written and verbal communication are required. In-depth knowledge of Internet technologies, including HTML and Javascript/jQuery and strong testing experience, including KPI development are needed. The incumbent will be an individual with proven skills working with internal clients in the Marketing organization to understand their business needs and respond with appropriate recommendations. The key skill is an ability to not just execute, measure and analyze an experiment but to provide the insights that will lead to meaningful changes to The Globe’s digital presence, and it’s associated Marketing programs and campaigns.


  • Analyze digital media usage to identify opportunities to optimize digital media investments and marketing effectiveness with tools like Adobe Analytics (formerly Omniture SiteCatalyst)
  • Improve key drivers of site conversion by designing A/B and multivariate tests that leverage measure, test and learn (test & control) best practices using Adobe Target
  • Develop front end code variations for A/B testing using HTML, Javascript/jQuery
  • Recommend/implement actions to improve key metrics for all CEM programs/campaigns
  • Understand Adobe Target and Campaign systems and effectively translate this knowledge into solutions that automate processes and increase our ability to dynamically personalize customer and prospect communications
  • Assist subject matter experts from other departments in seeing the impact and value of content and design strategies with data-driven analysis.
  • Responsible for the development of monthly reporting metrics/dashboards and communicate results to internal CEM stakeholders
  • Support database marketing and multiple channel campaign management efforts (email, direct mail, telemarketing/call center, web campaigns, or mobile/text/SMS)
  • Apply data solutions to help form Marketing, Engagement, Product Management, Sales and Retention strategies


  • Passionate about digital marketing, lead generation and CRM/CEM technologies
  • Major in computer science or a related discipline in Information Systems and Analytics
  • 3+ years minimum experience performing database analysis, marketing analysis, financial analysis, or similar related database analysis
  • Intermediate to advanced JavaScript/jQuery and HTML skills
  • Expert Understanding of Web and Mobile Analytics (Omniture/Adobe Campaign and Target a plus) and knowledge of/experience with A/B Testing and campaign platforms
  • Minimum of 3 years of combined experience with direct marketing channels (email, direct mail, telemarketing/call centre, online, mobile/text/SMS) ; analytics; database marketing; CRM or BI systems implementation, stewardship, design, definition, and working (staff level) management
  • 3+ years of experience in software packages or programming languages used for analyzing and manipulating data
  • Knowledge of relational data base technologies (i.e., Oracle, SQL Server etc), and data hygiene
  • Experience working with web analytics tools, preferably Omniture
  • Preference given to those with Adobe Target and Adobe Campaign experience
  • Data-driven individual with emphasis on test-learn-refine
  • Experience working in an analytics/data-driven role(s), collaborating with analytics, brand, traditional marketing, on-line marketing, digital and interactive marketing teams to drive marketing effectiveness across an enterprise
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and under pressure
  • An autonomous self starter, comfortable working in a team environment with minimal direction
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines
  • High levels of professionalism with strong attention to detail
  • Must be well organized, with strong multi-tasking skills
