The Business Marketing group at PwC is an integrated team of marketing professionals who specialize in a variety of industries and market segments. The group provides a full range of marketing services to internal and external client audiences that align with the strategic and business priorities of PwC.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Specialist will provide support in the areas of client-facing events, internal and external communications, market research, mailing list co-ordination, database management and other market-positioning activities.

Candidates for this 13 month contract position must work well in a team setting, have the ability to be flexible, function in a fast-paced environment, effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple priorities.

Job overview and primary responsibilities:

·Work closely with members of the Business Marketing team and practice leaders to execute marketing initiatives that align with the overall firm and sector business plans

·Assist the Business Marketing team in all aspects of event management logistics, including critical path development, invitation development and distribution, registration management, seating plans, event team liaison, list management/creation, presentation development, and other related support as needed

·Ability to apply, review and edit materials to ensure content produced is of high quality, with consistent use of PwC guidelines applied throughout all written and oral communications

·Support the public relations team to develop timely and integrated media campaigns

·Communicate regularly with colleagues in the Business Marketing group to provide updates on projects, lessons learned and create a cohesive go-to-market approach

·Ability to draft content for a variety of internal and external communications, newsletters, online and print advertising, as well as event invitations

·Collaborate with the design team to develop marketing collateral such as thought leadership, event invitations and promotional materials

·Work closely with the online marketing team to maintain and update the PwC Canada website

·Post resources to the internal portal and a variety of databases to enhance knowledge sharing with PwC practitioners

·Assist in the research and approval process of sponsorship activities to ensure all risk, independence and branding guidelines are met

·Process and track the payment of invoices to ensure vendor payments meet all deadlines

·Work alongside the marketing manager to develop and execute social media campaigns using resources such as LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.

·Provide metrics and report on the performance of marketing campaigns and external events to the necessary stakeholders

·Work with marketing managers and the research team to conduct ongoing competitive intelligence and external market research

·Assist with the creation and deployment of client surveys through various software applications

·Manage client lists for mailing and other market-facing activities using contact management system and Microsoft Excel

·Research, source and place orders for promotional merchandise

·Assist members of the Business Marketing team with a variety of projects, as required

Key requirements:

o    Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field

o    3+ years experience in business-to-business or services marketing

o    Above average knowledge of event planning

o    Strong relationship building skills with the ability to liaise with senior stakeholders

o    Understanding of graphic design and production processes

o    Advanced technical skills including Excel, Powerpoint, survey tools and campaign / content management systems

o    Strong project management skills

o    High level of attention to detail

o    Experienced use of using social media tools in a professional setting (ie. LinkedIn, Twitter, etc)

o    Strong written communication skills

o    Excellent proof-reading skills

o    Above average presentation and oral communication skills

o    Self-starter with the ability to take initiative

o    Strong decision-making capabilities and business acumen

o    Ability to prioritize and balance multiple priorities

o    Highly organized and analytical

o    Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
