Marketing Specialist contract

Currently, we are seeking a Marketing Specialist for a 14 month contract role.

Responsibilities:

Graphic Design:

• Advertising and PR
• Create printed matter when necessary (i.e., brochures, advertisements, calendar, posters, flyers, invites, banners)

Web and E-Marketing:

• Internal intranet updating
• External internet updating
• Maintain and send out E-Newsletters
• Post to social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter)
• Video editing if needed

Training and Events:

• Organizing company meetings and conferences
• Event coordination, including service orders, logistics, hotels, transportation and dinners
• Design event display graphics
• Coordinate meetings, training and communication for new product launches, including ordering and distributing material to sales representatives and customers

Reporting:

• Send out and post product alerts
• Tracking of any sales initiatives or promos
• Tracking of any sales competitions

Administrative Tasks:

• Arrange transportation for Sandvik Coromant visitors and employees
• Arrange hotels for out of town guests and Sandvik Coromant employees
• Arrange company dinners
• Arrange off site meetings when necessary
• Ordering of giveaways for sales and events (from Sweden or USA suppliers)
• Keep track of literature inventory in stock at distribution center
• Send out literature requests from internal and external employees and customers

Qualifications:

• Preference for someone with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar marketing role
• Must be an independent worker requiring minimal supervision
• Advanced computer skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong computer skills in the following programs: Microsoft SharePoint (for web publishing)
• Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop or Illustrator), Video Editing Software (Adobe or Premier or Similar)
• Web publishing
• Monitoring, creating content and posting to social media accounts
• E-newsletter creation and list management
• Use of CRM to extract distribution lists for e-marketing activities; also list hygiene
• Graphic design is a big plus
• Some event / trade show planning experience
• Excellent written and communication skills in English (extra consideration may be given to those who are bilingual in English and French)
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage time and multiple projects

Education:

• Degree in Marketing Communications or closely related field, or equivalent experience
