Are you a dynamic, strategic, outgoing professional who thrives on growing a business through marketing, promotional and branding initiatives? The Manager, Marketing position is an exciting opportunity within the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver, supporting the rest of the Hard Rock marketing team. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, Hard Rock Casino Vancouver, this position will be responsible for leading, managing and executing all casino marketing campaigns, promotions and advertising all at the site level.

Other exciting duties include:

  • Planning, managing and implementing the site marketing program, including all details throughout a promotion, campaign or special event (e.g. staff incentives, prize packages, supplier commitments, advertising, direct mail, property décor, collateral placement, auditing, etc.)
  • Working with the Director in drafting annual site marketing plans and budgets; maintaining budgeted labour and promotional costs for campaigns and special events
  • Developing strategies to leverage and maximize loyalty program (s), including Encore Rewards at Hard Rock Casino Vancouver
  • Coordinating media plans, advertising campaigns and ethnic media plans for the property as directed; purchasing media with direction from the Director of Marketing
  • Crafting brand strategy platforms and integrated marketing campaigns
  • Overseeing content and site level social media efforts to include floor promotions, food and beverage, entertainment and theatre communications.
  • Spearheading research driven initiatives to effectively inform marketing efforts, including situational and competitive analysis and consumer insights
  • Monitoring and updating the site marketing/advertising budget; reporting variances
  • Managing and assisting the onsite Marketing Coordinator, Marketing and Events Assistant and Digital team with the Casino’s web site
  • Executing property-level event programming and online promotion plans, including all associated collateral on and off site
  • Conducting ROI analysis for property-specific advertising, promotional and online marketing initiatives - with the assistance of corporate marketing analytics team and onsite digital team
  • Liaising with operations to report on site marketing results (e.g., event revenue, guest and employee feedback, EDM and DM analytics etc.)
  • Liaising and communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Developing and cultivating strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership, employees, vendors and regulators
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, advertising or business administration required
  • Minimum 5 years of marketing experience with 2-3 years of managerial experience; gaming, entertainment or hospitality experience preferred
  • Experience with customer- or consumer-centric organizations (e.g., hospitality, hotels, food & beverage, entertainment, tourism, gaming, agencies, retail)
  • Collaborative (solicits input to improve/enhance strategy and development)
  • Working knowledge and expertise with traditional and non-traditional media and advertising
  • Knowledge of Ethnic Media landscape considered an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong team leadership qualities
  • Organized and efficient managing projects on deadline
  • Excellent computer literacy with strong competency inPowerPoint and Excel (specifically in budgeting and ROI analysis)
  • Ability to demonstrate strong effective leadership andexecution of the vision as it relates to offerings, programs and solutions
  • Ability to analyze and make critical decisions
  • Experience in working with best in class marketing email service providers (Strongview, Exact Target, etc.)
  • Ability to drive for results and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible with work schedule (you will be expected to work occasional evenings & weekends
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Serving It Right License
  • Ability to successfully obtain a criminal record and credit check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB)
  • Have access to reliable transportation
